Another work in progress

                                                     Beautiful Claudia

This is another work in progress, I thought I had finished, ..... but then as I had her sitting in my studio she kept saying to me "I'm not quite finished" so I have been doing some work on her today.  When I have done more work I will add a new photo of "Beautiful Claudia" and see the difference

Current painting

                                                       Wedding portrait

This is a work in progress,
This is not the full painting, I am finding the skin tones difficult.  I am happy with the background and the bouquet. I still need to do work on the hair, add a neklace once the skin tone is better. and of course do the skin tone more, especially onthe face!!

What a great day!!

Today Sandy sent me her blog, it was so good to see her art coming along so well. It reminded me about my blog!!  oouch!!  it has been soooooo long since i have been here!
I am so bad with trying to get my computers savvy together to make this thing work!
But I am trying, yes I know "I" am very trying!!  ha ha

Anyway today Brett and I took our art works down to Caloundra to display and hopefully sell at a lovely gallery called "The Glass Jewel" lovely ladies Cherie and Faye.
I also called into the Seaview gallery at moffat beach to let them know if they get stuck for someone to man the gallery I am available. Anika was very positive about it. So fingers crossed!!

And the most awesome part of the day has been spending time with God.  Always brings a smile to my heart and face!

I recently stumbled across Mastering Color by Richard Robinson in New Zealand, which is a great video painting course for any painting medium - oils, acrylic, watercolor etc - it's all about how to see color properly and translate it to canvas. It covers lots of in-depth material in a way that's really easy to understand. I totally recommend this for all painters who need better control of their color - and lets face it, most of us do! Here's the link to the website:

Oh, here's the chapter list too:
1. Color Theory
2. Seeing Color
3. Describing Color
4. Value
5. Mixing Color
6. Manipulating Color
7. Color Harmony
8. Light Effects
You can watch the first chapter for free on the site:

To Him be the Glory

I am about to order a Painting DVD from Richard Robinson, "Mastering Colour".  I am very excited to have found his educational DVD's as it has been recommended to me to use DVD's to further my progress in my paintings.  I am planning to Blog my lessons from the classes on the DVD.
